Install Magickeyboard - Tutorial

This tutorial is for Windows Vista, Seven, or above versions. If you have windows XP, please don’t install voice synthesis step (1.b) because it will not work for this operating system.

1.       Downloads

In the MagicKey website, at downloads page http://www.magickey.ipg.pt/EN/Software.aspx

a.       Download MagicKeyboard: http://www.magickey.ipg.pt/software/installmagickeyboard.msi

b.      Download Voice synthesis: http://www.magickey.ipg.pt/software/installvoicesevenEN.msi

c.       English dictionary: http://www.magickey.ipg.pt/software/en/English.dic3

d.      In page “Downloads>MagicKeyboard Profiles” http://www.magickey.ipg.pt/EN/Perfis.aspx

2.       Preparing for installation:

a.       This step is necessary for MagicKeyboard can make the updates. Otherwise, Windows will block the updates installation.

In “Control Panel” select “User Account”

Again “User Account”

Choose the last Option “User Account Control”

Pull the bar to the bottom and press OK

3.       Restart the Computer

4.       Install MagicKeyboard

a.       Run the MagicKeyboard installation file that you have downloaded: “installmagickeyboard.msi”.

5.       Install Synthetic voice

a.       Run the “InstallvoicesevenEN.msi” file.

6.       Install English Dictionary

a.       Move or copy the Dictionary file “English.dic3” that you have previous downloaded, to this folder: “C:\magickey\Magickeyboard”

7.       Run MagicKeyboard

a.       The first time MagicKeyboard is opened it will show the licence window. To run as trial press this button: “Activar Versão de Demonstração”. You need to make this every time you run Magickeyboard. The trial version needs an Internet connection to be activated and its duration is 30 days.

b.      At the same time it will show a window to terminate the voice synthesis installation.

c.       To change to English language, inside MagicKeyboard window, make mouse right click and choose option “Language”. In the opened window, on folder “C:\magickey\MagicKeyboard” select the file "English.lng" and press OK.

d.      MagicKeyboard will check if are updates available and make the download. The updates will be installed when the MagicKeyboard is closed. It’s installed when a Desktop refresh is seen.
